could someone pls tell me what is involved in the major branches of engineering like cs, electronics & communication, electronics & electrical, mechanical & chemical. i would like to know what we study in them & their career options. also which branch would be better in terms of research? rates promised to each & every one.it would be very kind of u to reply.

cs-
software- mailnly programming. u gotta know the programming languages(c.c++,fortran,jave etc).. algorithms.. (a bit of math is also involved)
hardware- the parts of a comp.. in detail.. ram,rom,cpu,. things like tht..
ece-
circuits-
vlsi
digital signal processing.,,
networking .. comes in both cse and ece

Hi akshay!!!!
See the field of research is not limited in any branch!!!!!!
It is very vast....
As far as topics covered in core branches r concerned......
#CS-Algorithms, lot of logical maths(BOOLEAN ALGEBRA),programming languages(C++,VB,JAVAetc.), coding etc. and nothing to do with real world(no physics, no chem,no visualisation!!!!!!)
#ECE-VLSI design,chip making,communiction process(just like the last chapter of 12th physics),etc.(A VERY INTERESTING SUBJECT!!!!!!!)
#EEE-40% same as ECE but focusses less on communication tech. as such!!!!!
#CHEMICAL-another interesting branch!!!!!!
Involves making instruments and developing tech. on how 2 handle chemical products ,increasing there efficiency,study of instruments that work chemically(like a bathroom geyser!!!!!)
A very easy and good subject!!!!
ACCORDING 2 ME THE RESEARCH POSSIBILITIES R "MAXIMUM" IN CHEMICAL!!!!!
AFTER THAT.....
ECE>CS>EEE>MECH!!!!!

Frankly good research facilities are abroad.Try going to a coll. where u can go abroad for an MS more easily.
