dude i don't have any advice to offer but since you stay in TRIVANDRUM, do you know wheyher the IIST is a good college . because its first year will commence this year.i have got into the the extended list of the JEE and am hoping to get into the same. though ISRO is one of the premier organizations in the country is it good to join this institute which does not even have its bare essentials in place??????? PLEASE DO HELP IF YOU HAVE ANY INFO. I WILL BE DEBTED TO YOU.

If you have particular interest in aeronautical then IIST will be the right for you. It would be sharing the resources with ISRO (well-known organization) , so you will get proper exposure to the facts.

The construction of campus in IIST will at least take 18 more months as per their tender notice in TOI . The line will monotonous. Once you go in you can not go away. There is a bond of 5 years. You will have to work at ISRO only for that period. After that you will have to fly to NASA, that too wont be easy.
so only if you have mighty desire, then only u shld go there.

don't you think we could even work in AIRLINE COMPANIES after our five year stint in ISRO because ....what i think ultimately we are getting a aerospace degree or a avionics degree????????????
if the case is otherwise ...please explain how

I think IIST is for aerospace engineering and avionics i.e. aviation electronics but not for aeronautical engineering. I am not sure about prospects of a job in any airline. I think doing aeronautical engineering from any deemed institute would be better.

I think all those ppl who have made into IIST extended list must hv made into other gud colleges thru state exam and aieee, I personally feel its better to take admission thru aieee and state cee
as IIST has jst opened, it does not have a proper campus, ur field will be very limited( please don't confuse urself with aveonics and aerospace engg. being equivalent aeronautical engg.) job opp. will also be very limited.
