definately, uiet is better than nit hamirpur as well as jalandhar due to these reasons-

....uiet is on 50 rank where as nit hamirpur jalandhar are in 75 n 76 ranking in top 100 cllgs in india.

....these nits are among the worst nits in india.

NIT Jalandhar is an average NIT, one of the lower ones though. Hamirpur is the best amongst the worst ones. UIET is probably better, CCET must be at least in the same league if not better than these NITs.

dont go by rankings         see the opening closing ranks

UIET was established in 2002

NIT jalandhar has opening rank of 725 for CSE this year and 2300 in ECE has highest placement package of 12 lac.........

Ranks don't mean everything. NITs usually have higher ranks than their worth because ignorant people go blindly for them. UIET is better than half the NITs at least and Jalandhand and Hamirpur come in the worse half.

People do blindly for NITs for the label. All NITs are not good. Most people are ignorant, I have seen people place NIT Raipur CSE over LNMIIT CSE. This is complete ignornace. As a result NITs seats finish faster. BTW I have got a good enough rank for low courses including Civil even in one of the best NITs and I myself say those are my best choices.

But I would not say that had I been getting NIT Jalandhar or Hamirpur.

this time i partially agree with akshay thats true people r going blind over NIT label. . This is clearly visible in counselling results. People r blindly going for NIT Raipur, NIT KKR chemical like branches at rank of around 11k-12k where they could have easily got one of the IIITs. i personally think UIET is the best cohice among them.

I agree than UIET > NIT hamirpur > NIT jalandhar on rankings

GO BY RANKINGs IF YOU WANT TO BUY A COLLEGE .......................

NIT jal was not good years back and many donot have updated info about it .

visit this site  www.nitj.ac.in

highest placement package for NIT jal was 11.25 lac

LOOK at the placements of NIT jalandhar

just 30 companies visted hamirpur out of which CS/IT were very 1 or 2 (even infy didnot visit)

also check the UIET placements .

if u want to buy a college than go by rankings ,infrastructure etc.

1.Don't go by useless magazine rankings.

2.Don't go merely by placements.

UIET is not a bad college from what I know and better than quite a few NITs.
