i hv been offered chem at BITS Goa , i visited the campus there yesterday . the admssn officer told me that i cannot freeze this option , ill have to wait for the final list and wat ill get then will be final. Acc to my preferences , he said i can get MECH at hyderabad and a very slim chance of MECH at goa. Or else if nothin happens , then CHEM at goa will be fixed. Now mechanical and chemical were never my preferred options. i hv secured admssn in DA-IICT as well and ICT i like. So shd i go to BITS for its brand name solely and take anything i get there ? or is it better to take DA-IICT than mech / chem at hyderabad ? i cant get EEE / CS / ECE / EIE at any campus of BITS (my score is 294) , he said.
also should one think that Hyderabad has just opened so go for a safer DA-IICT ? Because at goa chances are less.

i think u shud go to bits goa, yaar. but if still if u don't feel good abt it then fine its ur choice leave it but let me tell u one thing. u haven't studied any course of colleges earlier in ur life, u'll have to learn everything wat is being taught so its ur interest which has to be developed, rest is up to u.
one more thing dude, how is bits goa, infrastructure and area wise. where exactly is it located.

u should go for da-iict
coz after some more years
brands doesnot really matter
all it matters is the course
moreover the goa or hy bits name is not that much better than da-iict

if u have a REAL interest in ICT -- then go to daiict
for each and every other reason -- go to BITS-G

go for daiict it is progressing at an exponential rate
and ict is nevertheless a good branch
and remember sometimes interest does matter afterall its da matter of 4 crucial years

you will definitely get mech in goa..2nd iteration i heard a guy getting it fr 297..n cutoffs will definitely fall fr 3rd iteration.

Well dude if i were u then even if i wud get CS/ECE at bits goa or hyd...i wud still prefer daiict :)
see its after all wat u become matters more then anything.........
there is just no comparing faculties of daiict.....just check its site........there r manyyyyyyyyyy just for one branch!!!
here is something by a daiicitian ambuj.....
Gimme a brk ... BITS Pilani is no doubt bttr dan DAIICT [:)] Nothng to argue abt dere ... but well if you compare BITS Goa it's an entirely different ball game all together . We have People here in DA-IICT who have left BITS Pilani with mechanical branch and Goa with Computer Science branch ... and dey r more den happy dey tuk dis decison .
BITS Goa ... has BITS name dat wud help ... i dunno abt infra but hv hrd it is gud ... but da thing where it sux is Crappy faculty ... means i ws goin through BITS Goa Computer Science Dept website and was amazed to see 1-2 Phd in dere CSE Dept .. Dat sux ....
One Should chose college based on da fact where he is getting better education ? If we compare the two college on this benchmark
1. Faculty Wise : - DAIICT Wins Hands down , Some of the Finest Phd's dat you could find anywhere in the country or perhaps world .. Including People who have done dere Phd's from UC Berkeley , UFL etc . and most imp dey have gud name outside da country hence dere Recommendation matter a lot .. if u want to do MS from Good univ abroad wid right kind of funding
2. Student quality wise : -- Hmm BITS Goa is slightly ahead not by far owing to the fact it has dis BITS brand associated with it .... Sill daiict aint dat far behind wid ppl here from 2K AIEEE rank to 9K wid avg hovering arnd 6-7K mark ..
3. Labs and Library : - I HAVE NOT SEEN BITS GOA so would'nt like to comment on BITS GOa , but well being pvt and well dat too supported by Reliance ADAG labs are awesome ... u wud get all kind of equipments including we have entire VLSI fabrication lab ... plus robotic lab and EHC here in DAIICT .. Library : - Well dats one thing dat rox big tym ... it's open till 2 in da nite ... and all da books are foreign editions not available in india and each one cost close to 5k buks .. and collection is amazing !!!! Trust me u r goin to fall in luv wid Library if u lyk reading dat is
4. Placements : - Dey Suck here in DA-iict .. hv to admit plcmnts r nt gud here ... i dunno abt BITS Goa .. and plcmnts dere !!!
Finally i have tried compiling a list of people who have done well after passing out of DAIICT using orkut , contacts etc .. dis mite help you ... in case you have aprehension about your future after passing out of DAIICT :

THOUGH ABOVE LIST IS INCOMPLETE STILL GIVES A FAIR INDICaTION ABOUT QUALITY OF EDUCATION HERE .
Plus we have been winning lots of National level Competetions by Cos like Microsoft and Texas (Beating likes of IIIT , IIT , BITS :-) yaya yaya )

1stly its BITS PILANI,GOA CAMPUS..
2ndly, it gets faculty frm pilani..lot of lectures/profs keep getting transfered to all the 3 campuses
3rdly,placements have been very good even though it was the 1st bacth(check out their website)
4thly,IC is better.
5thly,college life rox! com'on its goa!!!!DC(LAN) Share of 42TB!!!!! :D

I would go for BITS H because of the label although DAIICT is v good too.

dude...i feel that u shud go 4 daiict.....i 'm myself a daiictian had almst d same score last yr....if it had been pilani cmpus /goa cs/eee..than i wudnt hv suggstd this....but as 4 nw...hyd cmpus is new...man..u wont get ol d clubs n campus lyf there as its here in daiict...n 1 thing...campus lyf roxx here .....u must b knowin abt proffs n curiculum..besides that DC share is gr8(Improvin evry yr ..:D)..heaven 4 LAN gaming....blah blah! u mst hv been thru d campus i suppose during counsllng!n if u hv keen intrst in computers than u must go 4 ICT....!

n folks....i m not agnst bits nehow....nor anil ambani is paying me bucks 4 ads........its ol cumin outt that was 4m my own xpriences.........coz most f us here @ daiict hv almst d same bits score as u (prson who strtd d thread)hv got n evn more...

i dont think bits has compramised anywhere on quality .U NEEDNT DOUBT THAT
the hostels , lecture halls at bits hyd are completed so no prob with that as well
mostly its BITS pilani - hyderabad campus
finally this is comin from someone who has left daiict for bits hyd
