@awant dude If you join Bits then itz worth wasting that extra year coz you will learn a lot more abt management thru the various activities in the coll
Anyways though there arent any seats increased in Pilani campus you mite get Chemical or mech(If you don't want civil) in Pilani and some engineering degree in Goa campus(I cant guarantee that)

@awant
Thats silly.Except for the IIMs and someIndian B SChools. , MBA is done with at least 4-5yrs of work exp.(Like ISB)
I myself am committed to doing an MBA and work exp is very imp.
Have you heard of all those huge starting salaries? The catch is that ALL of them have had prior work exp. Abroad , the avg age is 27-28 for doing an MBA.
Having work exp and then doing your MBA always gets you better posts + salaries than your fresher friends(You should do some research on this)
And as for 1 extra yr at BITS , u do 2 PS2 s , so your whole 5th yr is spent in the industry.

I can't find the original TOI article(some1 plz search)
But in short , For a call
(a) CAT (20%) (b) 10th board marks (15%) (c) 12th board marks (10%) (d) Graduation marks (15%) (e) Work experience or professional course (10%)
//////////////////////////////////////// Why you won't get that IIM call Posted on Sep 11th, 2007 . No matter how well you do at CAT, low marks in 10th, 12th and graduation will affect your chances. For the first time ever an IIM reveals how exactly it shortlists and selects candidates. Rashmi Bansal analyses the impact.
The cloaked in mystery, shrouded in enigma, super secret selection procedure to one of the most elite management institutes in the country is now a matter of public record. A 5-page document outlining exactly how IIM Bangalore admits candidates into its flagship 2 year PGP program is now available on the institute website.
All those of you giving CAT this year will no doubt be excited by the contents of the release. Here are the details.
PHASE 1
a) Stage 1 shortlist: This is prepared solely on the basis of performance in CAT. You need to achieve certain minimum cut offs in each section. Of course these cut offs vary from year to year, depending on how test takers have performed as a whole.
b) Stage 2 shortlist: Here is the real bombshell. For all candidates in the first shortlist, the weighted total of five components are used to prepare a pre-GDPI rank list for calling candidates for the GDPI. These are:
(a) CAT (20%) (b) 10th board marks (15%) (c) 12th board marks (10%) (d) Graduation marks (15%) (e) Work experience or professional course (10%)
This means having a high CAT score is not enough to get an interview call to IIM B. Your past academic performance matters a hell of a lot.
Interestingly, CA is the ONLY professional course eligible for weight under the criterion 'professional course'. And the formula for work ex gives the highest score to candidates with experience of 36 months duration.
Thus the profile of the candidate most likely to get a call from IIM B is as follows:
* High CAT score, cleared all sectional cut offs * Consistent academic performance across 10th, 12th and graduation. * 1-3 years work experience. * A CA with good CAT scores and impressive academic record could have a small advantage. ....................
