Analysis
Overall
We see that IIT-Kgp is way ahead of Delhi and Kanpur.
- IIT-M,B,G,R are in the same league amongst themselves and also with BITS Pilani.(M=Madras and B=Bombay)
- IIT-G is way lower than all of the above.
Placements
IIT-R tops(314.7) , then come Kgp(306.9) , Delhi(305.8) , and then IIT-G(304.7) and BITS(302.2)
- IIT K , B are below IT-BHU .And these are usually the highest ranked in placements!
-IIT M gets a really really low 193.1 !!!I don't believe it 1 bit.I think its a mistake.
Intellectual capital
BITS is above Roorkee and Guwahati .Expected.
Industry Interface
BITS has a high 191 , below 3 IITs. I hope they considered the Practice School System.
IIT-G , B have quite low 85 and 102
Infrastructure
BITS has a good score , considering that it doesn't get any Govt. funding for all those labs , research facilities etc.
Pedagogic System
Pretty Good.

Well , the OUTLOOK Rankings are out.
And here are the scores.
I have merged the Private and Govt. rankings together to be able to compare.
Last year OutLook gave combined rankings for both the campuses.It is expected that it is doing the same this time too.

This is nonsense.BITS has almost 30 cr going into research projects.And why is it below Thapar when it outranks it so greatly???!!!!With 1138 projects , it tops ALL the IITs .OK , I am a BITSian but I don't believe that BITS is better at (overall)research than the IITs.
And IIT-B has 6cr???!!!!What utter nonsense!!!
The IITs get a lot of research projects , espec from Govt. of India(and also private companies).BITS gets lesser money for research (good amnt from from Private Companies).BITS is more focussed on earning money , so it does research in profitable areas.IITs get loads of Govt. money , so they do it on everything.

the survey clearly indicates tht goa campus is included in it bcoz as u can see in the engg infrastructure segment of the survey it is mentioned ht BITS has 306 phds......whereas pilani hs only 352 faulty nd as told by my friends in pilani the phd no. is much less than that ..................so u see the remainin r faculty from goa campus............also in placements the stats from goa campus r combined........

its simply unbelievable to see IIT Mumbai at that position and having that placement information being not so good.....
while we know that IIT Mumbai holds the record of the best placements in the country....
The MINT hindustan times survey is i think the best of the lot.....
