how r the placements in NIT's...can anyone tell how much it is........r they good enough like the IIT's.......

besides IITs NIts r d best options!!!!
Don't forget u can get admissions in PEC Chandigarh thru AIEEE only!!!
Try 2 get ranks below 5000 so dat u can choose any branch in any NITs!!!!

IIT'S REMAIN THE TOP BRAND IN INDIA AND NIT'S CAN BE CONSIDERED NEXT TO IT AS FAR ENGINEERING AND INFRASTRUCTURE IS CONSIDERED

i think the placements are good in the top NIT's ( Trichy, Warrangal, Surathkal)
Dataquest says the top salary offered to an undergraduate was 8.8 lpa by Google

well paddy... i am a NIT-student....although a 1st yr... nd yeah i can say the placements r gud... ofcrse not as gud as IITs..after all they r the most premier insti of the country..but still...after IITs, NITs do stand...esp the topmost ones, trichy, surathkal, warangal, alld, ngp, jaipur.... i cant tell the exact packages... but yeah, at NIT-alld, the packages in mech nd civil r bettr than those at IT-BHU.. plus like IITs, here also its 100% placement...

It depends on the NIT also .. Not all NITs have gr8 placements .. Though most of them do .. Its no where close to that of the IITs

Average Salary in NIT calicut was 4.7 lacs with cs having an average of 5.1lacs.
Placements have been great and the average salary of some of the depts has been higher that most of the depts of the iit's.
Dont see too much of a differnece bw our placements and those of iit-r and g except the first few offers perhaps.
Keep in mind that nitc ir ranked at no 4 or perhaps 5 and all the higer ranked nits sure have better stats than these
Companies visited included:Schlumberger,Shell,Bank of America,Goldman Sachs,HDFC,HSBC etc....
