Amity University is not recognised by UGC. Many of its courses are approved by AICTE. Amity University is enrolling and admitting students on the basis of the following.One.It has been created by an Act passed by U P Legislature. Two. Government reply to a Lok Sabha question says that University created by an Act of State Legislature can award Degrees and UGC recognition is not necessary.Three. A Supreme Court judgement has reportedly kept this Amity University from the purview of AICTE. So Amity is an University which is not recognised by UGC ; many of its courses are not approved by AICTE. Government should wake up to reality and review the whole thing afresh so that Amity University does not admit students and does not award Degrees so long it is not recognised by UGC and its courses are not approved by AICTE.
