What's the elligation man its his view that nit trichy is better then bits pilani..

I dont know why you bitsian are not ready to accept that ranking to colleges as given by some of the magzines donot entirely rate the college . One of the magzine gave the rank to bits pilani as 6th and at that moment the bits people and all the bitsia readly , happpily accepted it but some other magzine gave it 16th or 15 th rank and then they (bits managment and bitsin ) say that this was a manpulation . What is this yar yo guys will have to accept it that bits donot even have a regular sourse of funding . Its main funding comes from alumini which keeps fluctuating and is very and most unreliable sourse . You can imagine if alumini donot give a considerable funds for a simgle year then the college will be doomed for that year . Moreover only 80,000 people sit in bitsat which is comparable to manipal's uget in which around 60,000 guys write the xam . Even students applying for viteee is much more around 1.5 lakh. I have seen that many of my classmates who had rank around30,000 in aieee got dual degree in bits because they were good in english and could solve the english part of the bitssat better then other students.

I have never heard such crap about BITS before.
BITS doesn't have a regular source of funding and Alumni fund it???
That's the most stupidest thing I have ever heard.

Sources of BITS Funding:

1)Birla funded Trust.
2)The Distance Learning Programme , one of the largest(after IGNOU)
3)BITS trains employees of companies such as Yahoo , WIPRO , Mayatas , TATA , TexMAco and Loadz of others(Thanks to our extensive Linkages).We create tailor-made courses and teach via broadband and VSAT.We earn a lot from these big companies.
4)Consultancy and Research , for top companies like Intel , Siemens etc.We have some of the best labs in the country.
5)The Alumni , who are well placed give whatever help they can , but they don't support our coll.They give help in cash and kind(like get us discounts etc. , better deals)

BITS is very well funded.Logistics involved in BITSAT are far costlier than an avg paper based exam(those who gave BITSAT can vouch for this) and 117,000 ppl gave it this year.We have our own Satellite link(100MBPS , implemented by ISRO) b/w Pilani and Goa for Lecs by Pilani profs.We have put up 3 new campuses in the last 7 yrs , each state of the art , with the best facilities.The Hy campus , just infra cost 280 croresRs!!! 280crores , do you have any idea what that kind of money that is for a private insti??

ok i take my words back regarding the funding of pilani but regarding the bitsat i think i am right ...
