2. DUAL DEGREE OR PURE BE.?

- IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT MOST OF U..OR RATHER US….TEND TO TAKE MSC. COURSE WITH THE THING IN MIND DAT WE LL GETA DUAL DEGREE…IT IS A TRAP LAID HERE UNDERSATND THIS THAT NOT ALL BITS STUDENTS GET DUAL ONLY THE TOP 10 % IN THE ENMTIRE COUNTRY THAT IS ALL BITS INCLUDED GETA CHANCE…N SINCE THE GRADING IS GPA BASED IT IS NOT JUST ABOUT SCORING MARKS BUT BEING THE BEST OF THE NOT JUSTA SINGLE 1ST RANKER OF CLASS BUT SCORING WAY ABOVE TH REST OF THE BUNCH…..N DO REMMBER THAT WHO SO EVER QUALIFIED B\ITS IS CERTAINLY NOT LESS BUT EQUALLY OR MORE INTELLIGENT N HARD WORKING……SO DONT JUST GETTING HOPING FOR A DUAL …COZ U MIGHT NOT GET IT

BITS offers an M.sc in which u can pick up a corresponding B.tech dual of ur choice after the 1st yr based on ur CG....its good for those people who wanted CS/EEE/ENI/MECH but couldn't make the cut...plus u get 1 yr of extra knowledge in ur respect m.sc course!

N that is totally hoax...evry1 gets a chance to opt for a dual....out of the 180 m.sc dual students, 40 each get CS/EEE/ENI/MECH and usually the last 20 are offered chem...but this is relative...There myt come a batch in which the chemical is filled in by the top 100 only...but u'l definitely get a dual B.tech degree...tats for sure

Stats:last yr dual cut-offs-(CG at the end of 1st yr)
CS-7.3
EEE-7.1
ENI-6.5
MECH-5.9

N now,the scoring criteria...well
getting a 6 is a piece of cake...the cut-offs for c grade in indivisual subjects range from av-30 to 50....the av is the average of marks of all the students...so its not HIGH!
getting a 8 is to hang around the av+10 scores...which is easily possible with a week of serious studies be4 evry exam...
the top 10% of ur batch get an A...that is 10...at tat score(in all subject),u can even opt for a vertical transfer...its difficult, coz evry batch has a group of some nerds who always score more than u!

Now unless u end up playin lan games all nyt...sleeping all day...not attending lectures...havin fun wid ur frens even a day be4 exam...last hour studies....(All this is quite common once u come to an engg college...don't get amazed!)
u can easily manage a good dual!

[i]IIT M.tech duals are gr8...can't say the same 'bou their M.sc courses....
N when u guys try to compare an m.sc in BITS to 1 in IIT,its naturally flawed. Both the m.sc courses are entirely different.

IIT M.sc courses are entirely different. There u study the same subject u tuk the m.sc in for all 5 yrs....So its much better for students who wanna do Phd's and research in that particular subject!

BITS duals are like M.tech duals of IIT albeit the choice factor...Lyk I got an oppurtunity of a B.tech in engineering design wid an M.tech in Automotive tech in IITM....whereas in BITS,if u choose Msc(eco)...at the end of 5 yrs,u'l pass out wid a B.tech in (CS/EEE/ENI/MECH/NAVAL/Chem) + M.sc in eco...

Simply ignore it.My Bitsat score is 322 and I am going for msc maths at Pilani.i have talked to many seniors and they say it is very easy to get a dual in computer sci or EEE provided u do regular studies.
