go for civil at the above mentioned nit's ...try for surathkal ,warangal,trichy,calicut,allahabad,and rourkela..these are much better insti's...dont think of leaving a seat in any nit..thats wat my seniors have advised me

who told you ece is much better than civil and mech???....it is a thing of the past when civil and mech were considered as a last option...but not now...there is a huge infrastructure boom(u can see many advertisements on tv.eg DLF IPL)and it needs civil engineers....this year the mech engg placemnts of NITRKL are far better than that of comp sc and ece and it is going to be more good in the coming years keeping in view the establishment of large no of steel and other metal companies

see if u go by me ece at manipal is a far better choice than civil at nit u mentioned if u dont agree then plz check list of top 100 engg colleges u will see manipal stands at 39 &surat jaipur etc are far behind
plus the campus selection in manipal is very good the college ensures at least one campus per student
& at end of day branch also matters

what i think is that 99% of students dont take the branch of their interest...for example how come all the top 50 of iitjee have their interest in comp sc and that too in IITB....

see nikhil do u know the highest package given in the previous year of all aieee colleges
IT WAS 9 LACS BIT MESHRA BY GOOGLE
& NOT NIT SURAT OR JAIPUR OR JABALPUR
AT MANIPAL THE HIGHEST WAS 7.8LACS BY CAPSGEMINI
OK NOW U CAN EASILY GUESS WAT COULD BE THE SCENARIO OF NIT SURAT 7 JAIPUR
THEY MIGHT HAVE GONE AT A MAXIMUM OF 6LACS
