In a club there are 5 committees. Every two committee has exactly one individual in common. What are the total number of individuals in the club ??

Plz reply if you have found any sort of answer to the above question.

let the five committee be A,B,C,D,E
now we go for minimum no. of indi. hence if A has 4,common each with the rest.
B has got one from A hence minimum should be 3
like this E will have 0 members
therefore total are 10

actually answer can be 1 and this guy will be a member of all the committee(but then the club wont RUN!!!!)

1st committee should have at least 4 different individuals so as to have one individual common with other 4 committees.

2nd committee should have at least 3 different individuals so as to have one individual common with other 3 committees.

3rd committee should have at least 2 different individuals so as to have one individual common with other 2 committees.

4th committee should have at least 1 individual so as to have one individual common with the other committee.

Hence in all minimum number of individuals = 10
