THE MINIMUM IS 3 TIMES FOR 2 TIMES HE TAKES 3+3 THEN IN 3rd TRIP HE TAKES 2+1(ANYONE FROM PREVIOUS 6)

AS THE CONDITION IS THAT " without taking the same 3 children together more than once" SO ITS FULFILLED AND NO 3 CHILDREN ARE GOING TWICE

quite simple he has to select 3children at a time.. so no. of ways to select 3 children of 8 children is 8C3 SO ANS IS 56.....

but as specified in the question can you elaborate it?He is not taking the same three children but can be one or two.

ya if we take permutation 8c3 it contains all possible combination of three children... so combination of three children is never repeated... but one or two children can be repeated in other combination.........
