see its easy
take arg(z)=@ z----complex no.(x+iy)
and tan@=y/x
ie re(z)/im(z)

if arg(1) implies in the argand plane z is having only realvalue 1
ie z lies on real axis
so angle made with real axis(x axis) is 0

if arg(-1) implies in the argand plane z has the real value -1
which is in the opp direction of +real axis
thus angle made with the x axis is 180 or pi
