Complex Numbers startup
None

X + Y=(x+iy)1/3  then prove that    4(X 2 - Y2 ) = ( x/X + y/Y )

if it is X + iY,then the sol is:

X +iY=(x+iy)^1/3
(X + iY) = x + iy
X^3 + i^3Y^3 + 3X^2iY + 3X^2 *i^2*Y^2 = x + iy

equate real and img part separately,

x = X^3 - 3XY^2
y = 3X^2Y - Y^3

thus in the eqn,
x/X+y/Y = (X^3 - 3XY^2)/X  + (3X^2Y - Y^3)/Y
            = X^2 - 3Y^2 + 3X^2 - Y^2
            = 4X^2 - 4Y^2
            = 4(X^2 - Y^2)

hope u understood this ,

do rate me

Dear, Varshavallig The reason I asked this question was that
I myself wanted to know if it can be solved as (X+Y) else I have already done it that way.
Yet have a rate from me...........Cheers.
