hey guys can u explain me hw to find no. of solutions to a given quadratic equation

take this question for example

  3sinx + cosx - (y-1)2 =0         , 0  x 2
    find no. of values of pair(x,y).

    oh and please mention a general method which mayb followed fr such problems...i cud find none in  k.c sinha.

sin(x + pi/3) = (y-1)^2/2

Now draw the graphs of y = sin(x + pi/3) and x = (y-1)^/2 and see the points of intersection. Thats the usual method.
