Form and Solve the Equations

The angry Arjun carried some arrows for fighting with Bheeshm. With half the arrows, he cut down the arrows thrown on him by Bheeshm and with six other arrows , he killed the rath driver of Bheeshm . With one arrow each , he knocked down respectively the rath, flag, and the bow of Bheeshm. Finally, with one more than four times the square root of arrows, he laid down Bheeshm unconscious on the arrow bed. Find the total number of arrows Arjun had.

So) Let total no. of arrows = x

no. of arrows to cut the arrows thrown on bheesham = x/2

to kill rath driver = 6

To knowck downrath, flag, and the bow = 3

also

x + 1) are remaining

Thus, x/2 + 6 + 3 + (

x + 1) = x

Solve this problem by assuming

x = y to make it quadratic and obtain the result.
