log 1000/256

= log 10³ - log 2⁸

=3 - 8 (0.301)

=0.592

log(1000/256)= log1000 - log256 = log1000 - 8log2 (since 256 = 2^8 hence log256 = log2^8 = 8log2 (since loga^b = bloga))

= 3 - 8 * .301= 3 - 2.408 = 0.592

on simplyfing we get,

Given log2= 0.301 evaluate log 1000/256

Sol) log 2 = 0.301

if here base is x then

x^0.301 = 2

or x = 2^1/0.301

or x = 10

Thus base is 10

Now log 1000/256 = log 1000 - log 256 = log 10³ - log 10^2.4082

= 3 - 2.4082 = 0.5918
