frnds i have jus started matrices and determinants , im not able to understand this property . will anyone shall explain me bout this, with an example
The value of a determinant is unaltered if to the elements of row(or column) the same multiplies of the corresponding elements of any other row(or column) are added.

consider the column C1(with elements a1, a2, a3) in a 3x3 matrix. let the elements of C2 be b1, b2, b3. if u multiply each element of C2 with a
constant(say 5) n add em to the corresponding elements of C1, the value of the determinant is not changed, i.e., if u change the elements of C1 to (a1+5*b1, a2+5*b2, a3+5*b3) the det value is unaltered. got it?
