u cannot directly find the log of negative ...........first of all u have to do some modifcations before lookin into the antilog section...........i suppose u know it that is to add and subtract 1

Domain of a log fn is all positive real numbers incl zero


Log of negative nos dont exist.

i think he is mentioning the negative part of the log....sometimes we do see a negative before he log and not log of a negative number........tahts why i said specifically antilog

log of negative nos. do exist....for complex nos........in real nos. they are not non-existent.......correct me if i am wrong.....

for antilog of negative numbers..

x = -2.9957
>> characteristic = floor(x)
characteristic = -3
>> mantissa = x - characteristic
mantissa = 0.0043

now find antilog of .0043..and multiply it with a factor 10 raised to the power of charecteristic..here in this case -3
