Find the coefficient of xn in the expansion of

                      log e ( a + bx + cx2 )   where a,b,c,n R.

Please give a detailed answer or the actual final answer .Don't just give half  solution and leave rest of the solution for me as I am weak in solving a 'series' problem using simple methods.I often tend to think complicated methods.

Hey Aatish! It is not b/n. The answer will involve n or n+1 or n-1 or something like that as power.Please try again..................

Yaar, i think dere mst hve bn a prntng mstk.
A relatn b/n a,b,c hs 2 b dere.
In analogy 2 ur prob., i cn shw u smthng 2 mke u clr.
Lts c---------------tek ds as an example in acc. 2 ur problm.

,  be the roots f eqn.ax2 + bx +c=0
ln[a(1+ b/a x +c/a x2)], let d whole expn. Insde bracket b 'E.'

lnE = lna + ln(1+ x ) +ln(1+ x )
= lna + ( )x +1/2(2 + 2 )x2 +.....inf.

So, u cn c coeff. F xn vl b 1/n (-1)n(n + n )
Now +=b/a &  =c/a

The n's dt u fnd here r in powrs excpt 1/n. All numrcls r in pwrs.

But Hey ..lnE = lna + ln(1+ ?x ) +ln(1+ ?x )
= lna + (? + ? )x ?1/2(?2 + ?2 )x2 +??.inf.
hows that ..ln(c+k)=lnc x ln k but the problem is not incorrect Priya.
In fact no relation between a,b,c is required.
