<Q:>Three brothers whose ages are in G.P. divide a

certain sum of money among themselves in proportin

 to their ages .If they do that 3 yrs. later when

the youngest brother is half the oldest he will recive

Rs.105(youngest) and the middle brother gets Rs.15 more

 than he gets now.Give the ages of the brothers.

Please make it clear to me whether after 3 yrs. the ages of the 3 brothers are in G.P. or not.

Let there ages by a, ar, ar^2 (Ascending order)

Let the money to be divided is x Rs

The three equations given in the problem are

(a+3)/(ar^2+3)=(1/2) ------(i)

x*(a+3)/(a+ar+ar^2+9)=105 ------(ii)

x*(ar+3)/(a+ar+ar^2+9)-x*ar/(a+ar+ar^2)=15 ------(iii)

Try solving these set of equation. I have tried a bit but i am unable to solve till now. Do you have answer of this problem
