If N is divided by 9 then remainder is 5, what will be the remainder if N is divided by 3

since N=5(mod 9)
then N=9a+5
dividing by 3 you have 9a divisible by 3 and the remainder is what we get from dividing 5 by 3 i.e 2

answer is 2

N is 5(mod 9).

N = 9k + 5.

write 5 as 3 + 2.

N = 3(3k + 1) + 2.

so, N leaves the remainder 2 when divided by 3...
