there is a shortcut formula for such problems, which reduces the problem solving time.

the no. of ways that n identical things be distributed among r persons, such that each person gets at least one thing =

here, n = 11. r = 6.

so, reqd no. of ways =

x₁ + x₂ + x₃ + x₄ + x₅ + x₆ = 11 and all x`s are strictly positive so number of solution = ^11+1-2C_6-1 = 252
