If f(x)=x2+3x-40/x2+5x-14,   x  -7, x  2 then find the least and greatest integral values of x for which f(x)<0

y = (x2+3x-40)/(x2+5x-14)

y = {(x-5)(x+8)}/{(x+7)(x-2)}

y < 0    when x
(-8,-7) (2,5)

Hence the least integral value of x for which y < 0 is 3.
Hence the greatest integral value of x for which y < 0 is 4.
