If a word is formed at random by using all the letters of the word 'ENGINEERING',then find the probability that the vowels are in alphabetical order.

There are 3E, 2I,3N and 2G.Total no of ways of arranging the letters of the word ENGINEERING is 11!/(3!*2!)2 Let EEEII be 1 unit. The no. of ways in which vowels are in alphabetical order is =7!/(3!2!) So required probability =[7!/3!2!]/(11!/(3!*2!)2)=3/1980 Plz experts tell me am I correct???

Look.... when you have counted the total no. of favourable cases in the second part.. you have neglected the relative arrangement of vowels and consonants, you have just rearranged the consonants among themselves... so, EEEIINRNGNG EEENRNGNGII EENRENIGING etc all will be counted as just one case... as all have same relative arrangement of 3 N's, 2 G's and a R. Got it???
