Sir, I've learnt all the formula used in the probabilty- the conditional probability, Baye's theo., Binomial Distribution etc. But I'm unable to solve problems, Just I can't Understand how to begin with.
Please give few tips- what all equations we must first frame what variables to take how to use them i'm much confused

GO FOR SOME ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES FROM RD SHARMA...
then try some unsolved ones yourself you will find them simpler as you will go on.......
BEST OF LUCK.........

practice practice n practise see how the examples r solved try to solve them without glancing them again solve it until u get the correct answer find the mistake if u did then go for the other
this applies for every part in maths

hii
well it is hard to tell the way of learning probability and its applications .. after it depends on different individuals. But i suggest that u start with easy things ... try easy soved question .. n thn try easy unsolved questions .. try to get ur basics set n thn u can go for the tough ones ..
cheers

never use the formula.....u will get mad .........
a company get raw materials from A,B,C wit respestive probability=.3,.5,.2 i% of gud raw materials sent by A,B,C is 30%,40%,95% of thier own production. if the question is probability of finding C type raw materials given gud raw materials............
then u should have to use bayes theorem................ but go the way the theorem is derived
let total of 1 gud be produced...wit a contribution of .3,.5..2 from A,B,C. the total no. of gud materials = (.3)x30% + (.5)x40% + (.2)x95%
=.48
so in 1 materials .48 gud ones.
probabily to find c in given gud materials =(total gud ones produced by c) / (total gud one produced) = (.2x95%) / (.48)
but if as per conditional theorem..... find probability(finding C / gud ones) =ans will be different.
u should have used probability(findiang c gud ones / finding gud ones )=same answer.
wht ever u take (bayes or conditioanl u get the sane answer.........but u have to change probability considered accordingly..............)
i hope i am not wrong......................... mistakes r possiable...........if i am mistaken dont forget to nudge me....
otherwise plz rate me............

well help me out for this prob;
A box of oranges is inspected by examining three randomly selected oranges drawn without replacement. if all the 3 oranges are good, the box is approved 4 sale otherwise it is rejected. Find the probability that a box containing 15 oranges out of which 12 r good and 3 r bad will be approved for sale

just divide the different ways possiable...
ie
12 c 3 / 15 c 3
it has nothing to do with bayes theorem

that can be solved simply by multiplication theorem rather than baye's. Probability of happening ofA then B and then C is P(A).P(B).P(C) Imagination is a great asset in probability.
