.1/a1,1/a2,.....1/an are in ap let d be the common difference 1/a2 - 1/a1=d => (a1-a2)/d = a1.a2 similarly (a2-a3)/d = a2.a3 ...... (an-2 - an-1)/d = an-2.an-1. (an-1 - an)/d = an-1.an. now by adding ew get a1.a2 + a2.a3 +.....an-2.an-1.+an-1.an. = (a1-an)1/d we know that 1/an - 1/a1 = (n-1)d => (a1-an) = (n-1)da1.an . so a1.a2 + a2.a3 +.....an-2.an-1.+an-1.an. = (n-1)a1.an .

a1a2=(a1-a2)/d d= common diff off HP
so {(a1-a2) +(a2-a3)+.....+ (an-1 - an)}/d=(a1-an)/d
now 1/an-1/a1=(n-1)d=(a1-an)/(a1an)
so substituting: we get answer= (n-1)a1an
hence a)
