 Hey it is easy as a pie. Using G.p. 1+x+x2+x3+...............+xn-1 = xn-1-1 x-1 Now integrate both sides wrt x. then putx=1 solve to get answer. And rate if you get the ans.

What Nick said, is right. Given series is an H.P. and hence it cannot be summed. And Ankur.... How did you get it as n/(n + 1) ??!! Put n = 2, and you won't get it as 3/2, instead 2/3.....

hp sereis cannot be summed that easily, we must use the integral method(using lowwer &upper bound values) which tells us that value of the series is in between 1+ln n& ln (n+1) this can be approximately taken as ln n. so the answer is close to ln n.
