puneet sir can u plz temme if my answer 4 swordfish#3 's answer is correct or not ???? its on page no.4.....plz help me m still in a delema it took me 1 hour to answer that same question ..plz gimme a reply soon..  n u din' reply to 1 of my question before where i told u that the answer was not 13 but 20..... plz gimme a reply for that too

the question is :-
Find the no. of ways of distributing 30 identical balls in the three identical boxes, such that no box remains empty.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
&my answer is :-
first let us find out no. of ways of destributing 30 identical balls in 3 different box...(X Y Z)
(27+3-1) C (3-1)
=(29) C (2)
=406 cases
X+Y+Z=27.
(((.note..... X !=Y meansXis not equal to Y)))
IN THIS WE HAVE 3 CASES...
(1) when X=Y=Z.......it will hav only 1 case.....(a)
(2) when X !=Y=z....&....X=Y!=Z......&...X=Z!=Y....
it has....
(1,1,25)
(2,2,23)
...
..
..
&so on till (13,13,1)....
i.e. 13 cases...
&we have 3 such identical boxes......
therefore we have 13 * 3 = 39 cases.......(b)
(3)when X !=Y!=Z
it has( total no. of ways - cases in which atleast 2 are equal)
i.e. 406 -40
=366.....(c)
as we have identical balls therefore we are considering the same cases 6 times ....therefore we will devide...
366 / 6 = 61......(d)
therefore total no of ways are
i.e.1+13+61 = 75......
therefore answere is 75......

yaar i cud not get the way u solved the question .. y have u eliminated the case where each box takes 10 balls each ?? I am sorry i was just not able to get wat u were doing .. I might be wrong .. but was not able to get the thng exactly .. well the link for the books .. yaar ye to khul nia raha .. bahut der se wait kar raha hun .. u check out on the posts in goIIT ... many a times we have suggeted books .. it will be helpful to u i guess .. cheers

but sir i've taken that case where each gets 9 balls each...
i.e. X=Y=Z
as i've distributed 3 balls to them
1 - 1 each......
so the'll automatically get 10 balls each....

For distributing 6n identical balls in the three identical boxes such that no box remains empty the no. of ways are 3n2+3n+1(for solution u can refer FIITJEE rsm p&c) according to ur problem n=5 ans=91
