quadratic equations

what is the number of quadratic equations having the roots whose sqaures are also the roots of the same equation??(ans) 4brilliant tutorials quadratic equations package iit jee problems ques 1how to do this question?

The answer is 3. The only no.s which dont change on squaring are 1 and 0.

So, the roots can be (0,0), (1,0), (0,1) and (1,1)

There are only 3 quadratic equations possible with these roots. So the answer is 3.

You have missed the roots where is a cube root of unity. So, the quadratic also has this property

i don't think the asnwer is wrong firstly 0,0 can not be roots of quadratic second you missed out something try going with basics
