(1)  the two circle x2+y2-2x+6y+6=0  and x2+y2-5x+6y+15=0 touch each other . the equation  of  there common tangents is.

We know tat equation for the common tangent to any two circles is equal to

             T : C1 - C2 = 0

 Hence equation of tangent is : 3x-9  = 0

                                                : x-3 = 0

rate me if i m correct.............

Wondering for questions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is nothing but concept of radical axis...

the common tangent is actually the radical axis of given circles ..which is nothing but S1 - S2 = 0...

so subtract both equations..u have the line...

this was the shortest method.only aplicable for those tangents which have a common pt. of contact..

Diamonds r formed under greatest pressures..
so r the champs.

Kriteesh..

S1-S2 will give only give eq. for one of the tangents...The one which passes thru the point of contact...Circles which touch have two more common tangents...one above the two and another below it...Tho i don't know how to find their eqs. Sorry ....
