let n1 and n2 be natural nos., and n2= n1+2 . and n2<=1000
then when we multiply n1 and n2 which digit will occur the least time at unit digit.

n1n2 = (n1+1)2-1 and the possible last digits are (0,3,4,5,8,9) of which 4 and 9 appear only once for numbers 1- 10. So (d) is right.
