There are five routes between city x & y .In how many diff ways can a man go from city x to y & return if for return journey

1)any of the route is taken

2)same route is taken

3)same route is not taken

in first case-

i)5*4=20 routes are taken,because it cant return from the same path.

2)since the same route can be taken .therefore,total no. of outcomes will be-

5*5=25

when the any route can be taken, then there are 5 options for going and 5 options for coming back
so t0tal = 5*5=25
when the same route cannot be taken, then there are 5 options for
going but only 4 for coming back
so total = 5*4=20
when we have to take the same route and not any other route then there are 5 for going but only one option for coming back
so total = 5
