If |x| < 1, then you can expand each terms as (1+x+x^2+...)(1+x^2+x^4+...)(1+x^3+x^6+x^9+....)(1+x^4+x^8+x^12+...)
Once you've written it down like this, all you have to do is count the number of ways you can get x^16..
