Two friends are planning on exercise program in order to keep fit. They calculated that, they spent almost 90 minutes per day on exercise. Some of the time will be spent on aerobics.
They prefer to do more aerobics but they could not manage to do more that 60 minutes of aerobics. They discovered that, aerobics use 8 calories per minutes and flexibility exercise use 3 calories per minutes.
How should they use their time to loose the maximum number of calories? Please show your steps of solving how you reach to the answer. Thank you

let time devoted to aerobics is T.
time devoted to flexibility is t..

now we want 8T + 3t to be max. (no. of calories)...

we r given tht T+ t = 90 ...
also tht ............T < 60 ....

now ...let 8T + 3t = y..

put ....t = 90 -T..

u get....... 8T + 3(90 -T) = y..

find roots in terms of y...
put the condition tht roots must be less than or equal to 60..

u get the value of y..

Diamonds r formed under greatest pressures..
so r the champs.
