half the no., and just add 0.5 to it......
so answer is 40.5...

take doublets of numbers
( 2 , 1.5 ) . (15 , 8 )
2 = 1.5 X 2 - 1
15 = 8 X 2 - 1
also third number is 10 times the previous number
so the other 2 numbers are 40.5 and 405

i guess d ans is 40.5
next no.= (previous no.)/2 + 0.5
so, 2nd term = 2/1 +.5 =1.5
4th term= 15/2 +.5=8
|

method:
2/2=1
1+.5=1.5
1.5*10=15
15/2=7.5
7.5+.5=8
8*10=80
80/2=40
40+.5=40.5
40.5*10=405
and so on
