x=0 is not a solution.
when we r squaring an equation, we shd always subsitute the final answer and check.
here when we substitute, the 2nd term becomes root of ( -1) which is a complex no. So it shd be eliminated.
x= 16/25 is the only answer.

x + 1 - 2  x = x - 1-x (on squaring) 1 - 2 x = - 1-x 1 + 4x - 4 x = 1 - x (on squaring) 5x = 4 x 25x2 = 16x (on squaring) x ( 25x - 16) = 0 x = 0 , 16/25 but as he pointed out x = 0 should be removed as it doesnt satisfy equation plz rate if correct
