if each of the points (x₁,4) and( -2,y₁) lies on the line joining the points( 2,-1), and (5,-3) ,then the point P(x₁,y₁) lies on the line ______________

eqn of line joining ( 2,-1), and (5,-3) is 3y+2x-1=0

since (x₁,4) and( -2,y₁) lies on this line,

2x₁-11=0

and 3y₁-5=0

and these two

3y₁+2x₁-16=0

there fore (x₁,y₁) lies on the line 3y+2x-16=0
