if each of the points (x1,4) and( -2,y1) lies on the line joining the points( 2,-1), and (5,-3) ,then the point P(x1,y1) lies on the line ______________
eqn of line joining ( 2,-1), and (5,-3) is 3y+2x-1=0
since (x1,4) and( -2,y1) lies on this line,
2x1-11=0
and 3y1-5=0
and these two
3y1+2x1-16=0
there fore (x1,y1) lies on the line 3y+2x-16=0
