minimum distance b/w 2 parallel lines is the perpendicular distance b/w them........plz rate if useful.......

hello dear it is the perpendicular distance between these lines,hence it is known as minimum distance between these lines......

but,what is the exact definition of 2 parallel lines.aren't they 2 lines which meet at infinity?so shouldn't the minimum distance be 0?

Parellel lines do not intersect and maintain a constant separation btw them .. which is along the common normal !!

this distance is called the distance btw parellel lines !!

Let $Ax_1+By_1+C_1=0\ and\ Ax_2+By_2+C_2=0$ be two parallel lines.. And d is the perpendicular distance between them... Then.

$d=\frac{|C_2-C_1|}{\sqrt{A^2+B^2}}$

Parellel lines do not intersect and maintain a constant separation btw them .. which is along the common normal + thy need to be in the same plane
