what is difference between pasteurization and sterilisation of milk? give very specifically?
Pasteurization is a process which slows microbial growth in food. The process was named after its creator, French chemist and microbiologist Louis Pasteur.
Sterilization refers to any process that effectively kills or eliminates transmissible agents (such as fungi, bacteria, viruses, spore forms, etc.) from a surface, equipment, article of food or medication, or biological culture medium.Sterilization does not, however, remove prions. It can be achieved through application of heat, chemicals, irradiation, high pressure or filtration.
they are completely different processes.......
Pasteurization refers to killing of germs by heating of milk without attaining its boiling point, so that milk proteins should not denatured, and its properties remain mentained.
Sterlisation is the process of killing of germs either by prolong boiling or using any effective germicidal agent etc.
