anthesis means opening of flower...in bio practicals, the method we adopt for seeing pollen germination is called as hanging drop method...

bcoz in lab the pollen is mounted on a slide having cavity in middle which is covered with the coverslip having pollens mounted on it in a drop of viscous liquid on either surface.it provides space for germination so pollen are i hanging condition in this cavity so called hanging drop experiment
