I dont think that rc mukherjee is a bad book for physical chemistry though it doesnt have the theory portions but the numericals discussed in it r quite good and brain teasing.other good books r p.bahadur,op.tondon.book published by arihant is also good and is helpful in covering the portions according to the syllabus of aieee and various other exams.

It isn't a bad book at all and is quite good with numericals. You will be able to get quite a good collection of selectively graded questions in it and the best part is that it has very little repetition of questions so you can very well expect a completely different question everytime you solve. And if you ask me about the theory of the book then I wouldn't recommend this as it has a vague approach and is just like revision notes. Overall, if you are looking for a good numericals book then go with it and if you are looking for theory, this isn't your cup of tea.
