I don't think...Relax...Just concentrate on your present studies..They will help you a lot later...Get your concepts right...You can start yor JEE prepration from 9th if you want...

What ? VII standard ? Oh no man , you have very little chances of qualifying . You should have started JEE coaching since Junior KG ........maybee first standard too would have done.....but now , it's real difficult . And also , now that you have discovered goiit , well what can I say ? Have a Nice day .

nice question...(we dont get dis sort of questions in goiit very often)...well anyway dont waste precious tym of ur life in classes 7 and 8 preparing fr JEE....u'll regret it la8r...u may take a foundation course in 9 and 10 but its not absolutely necessary....i agree wit wat killer kiran said....study ur surrounding and develop a scientific temperament...wat seriously matters is ur preparation in classes 11 and 12....class 12 wil b definitely taxing so take most advantage in class 11....as for now, jus chill, b cool and focus on ur school studies...

SEE IIT PREPARATION IS NOT ALL ABOUT SPENDING HOURS STUDYING AND PRACTISING.........

SHOCKED BUT THIS IS THE TRUTH ALL YOU GOT TO DO IS STRIVE TO GET YOUR BASICS RIGHT FROM THE VERY STARTING GEOMETRY RESULTS OF SCHOOL SHALL HELP YOU A LOT SO RELAX AND JUST CONCENTRATE ON THE BASICS TRY TO MINIMISE ROTE LEARNING THROUGH UNDERSTANDING.

Well if you are self-motivated and I hope you are, I would suggest that you begin by improving your skills in algebra (such as solving equations in one variable, two variables, algebraic identities, quadratic equations and so on). Learn the fundamentals thoroughly and then move on to improving your problem solving skills.

You can start with textbooks of higher classes. Later on, move to Higher Algebra by Hall and Knight and if possible get somone to teach selected chapters to you. After you have a good handle on some of these topics you can start learning other topics like Trigonometry and Coordinate Geometry

For problem solving skills, I cannot suggest a better resource than www.mathlinks.ro. You can match yourself against the best in the world and learn a lot of fun things in the process.

However, while doing this do not neglect the fun things in life, friends, games, outings and all that.

Work Hard, Play Hard!

I'm in std 11. Just started IIT coaching. Listen to me very very carefully: FORGET ABOUT IIT TILL 11TH! Enjoy life now, before you experience hell in 11th and 12th. I'm in 11th and under loads of pressure, 12th will be worse. :( Watch whatever you want on TV, play video games, do your home science projects...anything! BTW Listen to the above guys too. Discovery, Nat Geo, History Channel are awesome! Watch them. You won't have time to after 11th. I haven't watched TV in like 3 weeks.
