4th dimension - 8-cell or octachoron   Awaiting Review for Nickels
Tagged with:       [Post New]posted on 13 Dec 2007 13:38:36 IST
This is an animation of a hypercube or tesseract rotating.
A tesseract, also called 8-cell or octachoron, is the ?four-dimensional analog of a (three-dimensional) cube where motion along the fourth dimension is often a representation for bounded transformations of the cube through time?.
And if you understand that then you?re one step ahead of me - all I know is that this does my head in : )

n by saying tht 4 dimension is a analog of 3 dimension u indirecly say th 3 dimension is a analouge of 2 dimesnion n 2 of 1 isn't

Looking at this reminds me of something i saw in television where a person had a suitcase. he opened it came out from it another siutcase. when he opened that he got one more suitcase, i.e., box in a box in a box till infinity. looking at the above animation i can feel the same thing. there are two concentric cubes and the corresponding vertices of these cubes are joint. the smaller cube gradually increases in size while simultaneously the bigger cube's shape is disturbed finnaly it becomes a smaller cube. i know i am wrong but thats all i can see.

actually ......there is discussion going between scientists to consider time as 4th dimension ................because to define the position of a particle moving in space,we need time.............................such as position of particle is x=1,y=2,z=6 at t=4sec.................. :)
