BOARD EXAMINATION OR ENTRANCE PREPARATION - HOW TO MAKE THE BALANCE???

Board examination and engineering preparations are like the two sides of the same coin as both have their respective significance for a student. When a student stands on the last stepping stone in his school life and enters the 12th standard, he faces the board examination. Peer pressure and demanding parents often creates a lot of agitation in their minds as they have to score good percentage to get into the best college but with that they have to prepare for the entrance exams also. If the student focuses only on the one of them, then they may be in trouble. BOARD examination is the pivotal examination and the scores which a student gets here are considered to be very important while joining any university or even securing an employment. Board examination should be a priority but its does not mean that the students forget about the competitive Entrance Examination which is the second step towards the success. So, making balance between the board exam and the entrance preparation is very necessary which can be achieved by smart studying and time management. For the board examination, we have to go through all the topics which are there in the books but most of the topics are not covered in the entrance exams as it consist of conceptual objective questions which play an important role, to grasp the understanding of any subject.

What exactly happens when students get engaged for the board exam preparations, is that they are studying everything and preparing themself for the theory exams. So, they will be thorough with the subject and they will read the books properly and not try to cram the content by rote learning. I would advice that your entrance exam preparation should also go along with this. As you put a separate notebook for each subject in which you can make note of the concepts, points, definitions and numerical formulas in a chapter because it will be helpful for the future while preparing for entrance exam. I know many students never follow this practice as they think they will prepare for entrance separately. But it is a mistake that they commit while preparing for entrance. When its comes to the preparation for the entrance exams, students should not start with reading lessons which they did for their board exams,  instead, they should first go for the syllabus, segregate the topics that are going to be covered in the entrance exam, look or all concept and conceptual based question and practice all sample and previous year question paper. Secondly, one of the most  important part is time management i.e. time taken to solve each question as one will hardly get 60 seconds to solve a question. If the students are very clear about the concepts and the formulas, they should try to solve as many sample paper as possible with the time management. Don’t be very relaxed as the board exams culminate because the time for the preparation of entrance exam is very less. So, one should start revising the concept and solve the last year question paper, practise the short cut methods for tricky question which is very useful in time management. So, work harder for the entrance exam. There are many websites which will provide you the complete package for the test series, solved paper and text books and by taking these tests, can analyse your performance.

So remember that the Board examination are the base for entrance exams, “HAPPY STUDYING”.
