Demystifying JEE Exam 2013
academic , Exam Date and Pattern , JEE

Finally its official now that there will be one single entrance exam - JEE from 2013 onwards.  The entrance exam will conduct in two parts – JEE (Main) and JEE Advanced. The offline exam for JEE (Main) will held on 7 April 2013 and online exam will conduct between 8th April to 30th April 2013 likely. Only the top 1.5 lakhs candidates (including all categories) of JEE Main will qualify to appear in the JEE Advanced exam. Moreover, getting through new JEE with good rank will not secure your seat in the top engineering colleges unless you don't achieve good marks in Board exam. So students now have to focus doubly on board exam and entrance exam as well.

Who are Eligible?
Candidates, appearing for JEE (Main) 2013, must have to pass 12th standard or its equivalent qualifying exam. The JEE (Main) merit list will be prepared after giving 40 per cent weightage for 10+2 marks, which means only 60 per cent of the performance in JEE (Main) will be taken into account. If a student wants to improve his performance in boards, he is able to do that since these marks will also carry weightage from next year.  In JEE advanced exam, only top 150000 candidates can appear based upon on their performance in JEE Main exam.

Number of attempts
The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at JEE(Main) shall be limited to three (3) uniformly for all the candidates in consecutive years. The candidates who have passed +2 exam in 2011 or 2012 or appearing in +2 in 2013 are only eligible to appear in JEE(Main)-2013.
