for AIEEE aspirants
in the last few days (since i have become frequent at goiit, again)...i have answered many queries regarding admission thru AIEEE... nd onething which i hav noticed is, not evryone knws about the actual system of admission (even i got to know after my result)...so jst thought to tell u all this stuff...
..so here's sth exclusively for all the AIEEE aspirants!!

AIEEE is an all india exam, whr the all india rank is given, but its not the AIRs, which gives the candidate the admission in the NITs (m talking just about NITs, nd not thapar, jaypee, or daiict)..its thr state rank... cuz every NIT has some definte state quota... some definite no of seats for each state... so ur AIR is of almost no importance when it cums to admission to NITs...
i dnt knw if its gud or bad...but yes it is the system... and most badly affected are the students of Rajasthan (mainly becuz of Kota), nd UP, whr due to high competition, state ranks are quite high...

to add an example, i myself , frm UP with an AIR of 5076 was having SR of 659... while one of my batchmate, frm punjab, she got an AIR of ~15k, with a SR of ~350... thus landing in a better branch than me...

but dnt let this fact affect ur studies, in anyway...its jst to make u aware of the system (and also to reduce my typing work, its really boring to type same stuff again n again...quite lazy i am )

gud luck to u all

Hi manasi..... I am from Hyderabad, AP. If I get a good state rank will I be given preference in IIIT, Hyd. Will IIIT, Hyderabad give weightage to AP state rank students. Pls reply. I am very much interested in IIIT, Hyderabad.
