Eq wt of redox compounds =Molecular wt/Y where Y=the total change in oxidation no. in 1mole of compound(its imp 2 note ) redox compound=AxBY (I)If only 1 element say A is redox1:If it enters into only one compound+5 +3 A -----> A+....total change in ON=5-3=2=Y2:If it enters into more than one compound+7 +2 +02A---->A+AY=5+0/2=5/2 (take avg corresponding to each per mole change)(II)If both elements are redox1:If both are oxidized+5 +3 +7 +4 A+B--->A+ BY=Total change in on fr A+Total change in on fr B =(7-5)+(4-3)=3 2:If one is oxidized and the other is reducedY cannot be found!!3:If same element is oxidized and reduced (Disproportionation rxn) +4 0 +5A---->A+ A1/Y=1/increase in on +1/decrease in on=1/(5-4)+1/(4-0)=1+1/4=5/4Y=4/5 HOPE U FIND THEM USEFUL :):):):):)
