LABOURER BOY GETS IIT ADMISSION
Here is a news appeared in a Malayalam news paper 'Kerala kaumudi' dated 7.06.08. I am translating it for everyone’s information.
LABOURER BOY GETS IIT ADMISSION
He doesn’t have means to eat three times a day or electricity connection in his poor house at Garikapadu, a village in Khammam District of Andhra Pradesh. He used to get Rs 80 per day for working in Jawahar Rozgar Yojana Project. But he can't go daily. The money he earns was not even sufficient for buying text books. So he used to borrow books from a library for his studies.
When asked how he manage his studies and work Rao said 'even when I worked I think about problems in physics!'.
Rao's mother is uneducated. This mother doesn’t even understand what exam her son has passed. But she knows that her son has achieved something great.
Just few days before JEE test Rao could get some coaching in an institute at the near by city
But now Rao is facing a new problem. On June 18th he has to go for counseling at IIT Madras. His hands are empty. He is optimistic that someone will surely help him. Confidently he said "I will return the money when I get a job".
